  • Updated

If you’ve moved into a newly constructed home that already has a SPAN installed, you’ll need to get the panel connected to the internet before you’ll have access to all of SPAN’s smart features via the SPAN Installer App.

SPAN Panels do require an internet connection to ensure it is kept up to date, provide monitoring, and provide access to SPAN’s smart features. You can learn more about this here

Once you’ve had the internet set up at your home, you’ll follow these steps to get access to the SPAN Installer App:

  1. Connect the Ethernet Cable
Your installer should have left behind an ethernet cable for you to connect between SPAN and your router. The cable should already be connected on the SPAN side so you’ll just need to connect the other side to your router.

  2. Email SPAN Support Your Info
Send the following information over to SPAN Support
      • First & Last Name
      • Photo of utility bill (or other US mail document) showing home address and name (as stated above) clearly
      • Email address for use with SPAN Home App Account
      • Photo of the QR Code and Serial number for each of the SPAN Panels on your property (instructions for finding this here)
  1. Request Verified
Once your request is verified by SPAN Support, you will receive an email with a link to download the SPAN Home App and set up your account. You can follow the instructions here for this:  Setting Up Your Account.

  2. Add Wifi Details
After gaining access to your SPAN Home App, we additionally recommend that homeowners also input their wifi details following these instructions: Internet Connectivity.
