DOWNLOADING THE SPAN HOME APP

After your panel is fully installed, you should receive an introductory email inviting you to download and set up your SPAN Home App account:

If you didn’t receive the invite, you can download the SPAN Home App at the App Store or Google Play Store. On the login screen, choose “Resend invite” if you think your invite email was lost.

If you own a SPAN Panel MAIN 40 or SPAN Panel MLO 48 panel (How do I know which SPAN Panel I own?), you can choose to “claim a home" without an invite.

SETTING UP YOUR ACCOUNT FOR SPAN Panel MAIN 32

After downloading the SPAN Home App, per the instructions provided in the invitation email, you’ll follow these steps:

  1. Open your SPAN Home App and input your email and the temporary password included in your email - this will will take you to the next step.

  2. You’ll be presented with a form directing you to fill out your information (the email will be the same as the one where the invite was sent).

  3. Fill out the form and choose “Next” and you'll be directed to assign a name to your new SPAN panel.

  4. Next you’ll be given the option to allow or reject SPAN notifications (these can be adjusted in your settings later). Click “Next“ again and you’re done! You’ll be on the home page of the SPAN Home App.

IMPORTANT: If you followed the link in the email sent by your Installer and were not taken to the "Create your Account" page, you may need to briefly turn off your VPN or Firewall (if you have either), and try again. We have seen instances where these tools can block our account registration software.

SETTING UP YOUR ACCOUNT FOR SPAN Panel MAIN 40 or SPAN Panel MLO 48

After downloading the SPAN Home App, per the instructions provided in the invitation email, you’ll follow these steps:

  1. Open your SPAN Home App and input your email and the temporary password included in the invitation you received.

  2. You’ll be presented with a form directing you to fill out your additional details, including a permanent password. Once completed, click “Next.”

  3. You’ll be given the option to allow or reject SPAN notifications (these can be adjusted in your settings later). Click “Next“ again.

  4. After this, you’ll receive guidance to invite other home members to the app, set your Battery Priorities, adjust your notification preferences, and choose your Always On breakers. 

CLAIMING A PANEL

Homeowners moving into homes with a SPAN Panel Main 40 or SPAN Panel MLO 48 may not receive an invite to the SPAN Home App but they are able to download the SPAN Home App and choose the “Claim a panel“ option on the app’s login screen to start the steps to set up their account (you’ll need to be able to access the panel to complete this):

  1. Download the SPAN Home app and click the “Claim a home” option on the login screen.

  2. Go to your SPAN Panel and open the front door. Look for the “SPAN Panel Controller” sticker that appears between your panel’s Gateway and breakers.

  3. Scan the QR code that appears on the “SPAN Panel Controller” sticker. As long as the panel hasn’t already been claimed, you’ll be directed to create an account.

  4. You’ll be sent an email to verify your email address. Locate the email and click the button to verify your address and you’ll be directed back to the panel where you’ll see a brief introductory email.

  5. After this, you’ll receive guidance to invite other home members to the app, set your Battery Priorities, adjust your notification preferences, and choose your Always On breakers.
