SPAN has partnered with Mitsubishi to create an improved PowerUp experience for homeowners with select Mitsubishi GS units.
When compatibility is enabled between the two systems, the Mitsubishi GS unit will automatically throttle power going to the unit when it sees excess power being used by other appliances in the home. When power levels drop, power will return to the GS unit.
Which Mitsubishi GS units are compatible?
- MUZ-GS09NA-U1 / MUZ-GS09NAHZ-U1
- MUZ-GS12NA-U1 / MUZ-GS12NAHZ-U1
- MUZ-GS15NA-U1 / MUZ-GS15NAHZ-U1
- MUZ-GS18NA-U1 / MUZ-GS18NAHZ-U1
- MUZ-GS24NA-U1 / MUZ-GS24NAHZ-U1
- MUZ-GS30NA2-U1
- MUZ-GS36NA2-U1
How do I enable compatibility?
To enable compatibility, you’ll need an installer who is SPAN-Authorized and a Mitsubishi Diamond Dealer. From there, they will install the hardware and will need to ensure:
- Both your SPAN and Mitsubishi GS unit will need to be connected to the same 2.4 GHz wifi network.
- A Mitsubishi Kumo Cloud Wireless Adapter (WiFi) Interface Control 2 will need to be installed on your Mitsubishi GS unit.
- Register your Mitsubishi GS unit to a Mitsubishi Kumo Cloud account.
What happens after the install?
After your Mitsubishi GS unit and SPAN have been installed, open the SPAN Home app and tap on the banner displaying “Mini-split detected.” Follow the setup flow to connect your Kumo Cloud account and Mitsubishi mini-split to SPAN.
How do I set up a Kumo Cloud account?
You’ll want to connect with Mitsubishi Support for instructions to get your account set up. If you have any trouble with your Kumo Cloud account, please reach out to Kumo Cloud Support.
What if I lose the connection between my Mitsubishi GS unit and SPAN?
If the connection between your hardware is lost, this means you’ll need to re-authenticate the connection, similar to when you set it up. Click on the banner notification in your SPAN Home app and follow the instructions to get reconnected.
